Artist-In-Residence Day 4 The weather was better today, 41', but no rain. That's a good thing. Did about 4 miles of walking in the woods today looking for something memorable to photography, the only thing I found was a whole section of the park that is full of limestone sink holes--one spot a pond just flows into a hole in the ground- not sure where it go's from there, but it was interesting. Sorry I didn't take any pic's with the iPhone to post today. Was to busy with the big camera. Supposed to have sunshine tomorrow, can't wait---got a spot picked out for sunrise. iPhone pond shot.

Artist-In Residence Day 3- when driving in the driving rain, but couldn't find a dry spot to give the camera a good workout. Oh well, I guess more time in the internet lounge surfing the inter web and planning in my mind's eye shots when the weather breaks. 5pm enough for today, time for dinner at camp David. A can of barbecue Vienna sausage and a pack of Fritos, handful of peanuts – and a bowl of rice, plus a tall glass of eight year old Canadian. --------Things are looking better!! Continued updates--stay tuned. Inside looking out !! Artist-In-Residence Day 3 was even a bigger surprise, I have always wanted to stay in one of cabins at Santee state park that we're build on the water, got my wish, but woke up at 6am by an unusual sound, found out the cabin was moving!!! Had about 20 mph winds and white caps on the water, and the cabin was a rocking and nobody was a knocking! Just a few weeks back I experienced my first earthquake in SC, a 4.1 about 35 miles from me, (but I thought it was a Blackhawk helicopter over the house coming to get me) so I'm thinking maybe a cabin on the water wasn't the best place to be! Stay tuned for updates. Artist-In-Residence Day 2 was a bit of surprise as well, woke up at 5am to get ready to go shoot the sunrise, but didn't look out the door until I was ready to go, and what I found was raining and cold and socked in. Oh well, time to start thinking about plan "B" and "C". Stay tuned for more updates. My first day on my Artist-In-Residence program at Santee State Park on Lake Marion in South Carolina. Only had about four hours before sunset, and didn't really figure on taking too many pictures the first day, but as it turned out had a beautiful sunset,so I grabbed the camera and went to work. But as it turns out, one of the best pictures I got was with my iPhone just to capture the moment. Stay tuned for more updates! |
